It's all in the show, so there's no need to have a list of people who either want to be Hypnotized, or who have been chosen to be Hypnotized by the event planner. Instead, volunteers are self-selected. I only want people who are willing, motivated and ready for the experience. Some people prefer to observe, while others really want to be part of the show! I guide the audience through a process that is fun, amazing, funny and has a unique purpose. At several points in the beginning of the show, individuals discover how open they may be to suggestion, and whether they are truly ready for the experience. By the end of that first segment, people will already know if they are ready and want to be part of the show. You will be pleasantly surprised at how many are ready and willing to be part of the show! We all would do well to work on our communication skills. How we communicate with others, both in speaking and listening, are key to healthy and positive relationships. But HOW are you listening? Often words are chosen carefully to communicate feelings and thoughts, but can also often mask one's true feelings. On top of that we can trick ourselves into thinking one way about something, only to have opposite feelings underneath that we're trying to ignore, hoping they will eventually go away. A key ingredient to good communication is to listen with your EYES, not just your ears. When someone is speaking with you, pay attention to what you see, as well as what you hear. Does the person's body language and attitude match their words, or is there is disconnection between them? If you notice a disconnection, first validate what you heard them say, and then point out that the discrepancy between what they said and what you saw in their body language and facial expression. This can become a key to understanding the person better, as well as a way for the person to realize their true feelings about a matter, which may have been eluding them until now. So listen with your ears AND your eyes. Let them open doors to clearer communication and stronger relationships! There are positive thoughts and negative thoughts. Positive thoughts are associated with experiences, encounters and situations that make us feel uplifted, happy and joyful. Negative thoughts are usually associated with circumstances, people and situations that leave us feeling drained, sad and heavy. How can you reduce the effects of negative thoughts on your life? There is a simple technique that helps a great deal. First, picture the negative thought, whether that is a memory of a situation, person or place. Picture it as vividly as possible. Once you have done that, drain it of all color. Every ounce of color draining completely away from that visualized reality, leaving it a completely colorless, black and white image. Now shrink that black and white image, making it smaller and smaller, until you can barely make out any details at all. Once you have that image shrunk to its smallest size. Open your eyes, and let go of the experience. It only takes a few times for this technique to yield amazing results, as it dramatically reduces the impact of the person, situation or experience you are reducing. Give it a try! I have had a couple of events in the past, where the person booking me for a Hypnosis Show was trilling with excitement: "This is going to be so great! No one knows you're going to be here!" Deep breath. Time for a little discussion. I do NOT recommend having a hypnosis show as a surprise for your guests. First, there are some people who are completely turned off by a hypnosis show. I know of events where a few people have walked out of the venue simply because there was a hypnosis show taking place. Granted, hypnosis shows are fun, funny and safe, but there are some who have personal objections and discomfort with a Hypnosis Show, and they ought to be respected. This is when a Mentalism Show might be the better choice. Second, a Hypnosis Show benefits from the psychological principle of expectation. When people know there is a Hypnosis Show, their unconscious mind gears up for the event. The funniest people in the show are already preparing to be hilarious! The anticipation of the Comedy Hypnosis Show will prepare your guests for a great time! So please let your guests know in advance about the wonderful funny entertainment you have booked for them. They'll thank you for it! Granted, I'm good at my job. I can make you laugh, help your guests have a great time, whether that's at a fundraiser, banquet show, or walk-around entertainment. But what makes me DIFFERENT? The fact is that I CARE for your guests. Yes, this is my full-time job, and how I make a living to support my family. However, what I do Is much more than a job to me. All too often I hear about people who book an entertainer, and are completely surprised at how distant the entertainer seems. It's almost as if they came to perform, get paid, and get out of there as quickly as possible. While that may work for some entertainers, that's not the way I do things! When I'm hired for an event, I care for everyone in the room, whether that's 20 or 2000 people! I want to make sure that people are having a great time, and I work very hard to be in tune with your guests so that enjoyment is their top priority. Connecting with people is my specialty, and I'm well-known for treating people with respect, courtesy and compassion. It's more than just fun, laughs and amazement; it's about people! Many times we get caught in our own heads, don't we? There is a clear goal we have in mind, there's a wealth of enthusiasm and boldness just waiting to be unleashed. Yet, when it comes to the planning - or even when the plan is written down - we seize up, and nothing happens. How do we get unstuck? First, don't panic! That feeling of sudden stuck-ness is a sign that you're about to embark on a new and terrific path. That resistance is a clear warning from your unconscious mind that this is uncharted territory, and there may be a sabertooth tiger waiting to eat you! Of course, there is no tiger, but it's a remnant from our evolutionary past for survival. Second, look at your possible actions. Is there something that stands out to you? Is there one thing that just sparks some energy and excitement in you? Underline it. Third, do it! Do the thing you have underlined. Don't think about it; just do it! Now if something else suddenly occurs to you that might be a better option, then do that. The point is: do SOMETHING! Making one step forward is often the best way to start making your visions, dreams and plans come to life. Take the step, even if you're afraid; you'll be glad you did! Absolutely not! Many times, people are scared to be hypnotized, for fear of being put in an embarrassing situation, or out of fear of being mentally manipulated. (I completely understand this, as I have seen other hypnosis shows that certainly “cross the line”.) In fact, I have created an entirely different show (I Can’t Believe It’s NOT Hypnosis!), which has the same results of a hypnosis show, but without hypnosis being used. Instead it uses psychology and suggestion while everyone is wide awake. So if you want to see a great hypnosis show with everyone wide awake, full of fun, laughter and amazing stuff, Contact Us and let's explore the possibilities! I've done a number of shows for Fundraising Galas, and they are so much fun! There are always three big moments when I do a fundraising show, and it's always fun to see them happen. 1. I'm not a typical magician. First, the group suddenly realizes that I am not a magician doing a bunch of magic tricks. While there are certainly a number of mentalists out there who are just magicians, I'm trained in what might be called Classical Mentalism, which is so much more mysterious and fun! 2. Laughter and astonishment. There is the realization that the show has so many moments of laughter, and the things that take place are so amazing! Whether it's reading someone's mind of a word or an entire movie they're thinking of, or if I influence them to make particular choices, there are always these looks of wonder and amazement. 3. It's a great time! At the end of the presentation, everyone has had a wonderful time, and it's so much better than they could have possibly imagined! It's a great time, and a wonderful crowd-pleaser, which brings in so much money for your fundraising efforts! Why watch a paranormal movie, when you can have the EXPERIENCE yourself? During the Halloween Season, I offer a very different kind of show. Instead of comedy, this is more on the spooky side of things. My Paranormal Evening is an array of unusual experiences, including a glass moving experiment, short and entertaining card readings, and a Seance experience. I only offer this during the months of September, October and November each year, which is that time of year when thoughts turn to the world of spirits, ghosts and the paranormal. Paranormal entertainment is a little unusual, but there is nothing gory or horrifying that takes place. Every experience is different, even each Paranormal Evening is different! This can be presented for larger audiences, as well as more intimate groups. Curious? Want to know more? Contact Us for more information and book YOUR Paranormal Evening! I'm always looking for new elements to take my shows to the next level. Currently, i'm working on a new piece to add to my Hypnosis Show, which will add some more fun to the experience! It's a fun time working on it, as it adds some interesting experiences to the show, which includes someone getting stuck to their chair WITHOUT being hypnotized, feeling things happening to them with no one near them, and few more surprises, all with pure mental influence, no gadgets or tricky stuff. I'm looking forward to start presenting it this fall in the Hypnosis Show - it will be a blast! |
