It was a blast from the past this weekend, with a double-header of shows that had a very special request for both shows:

I had to play piano and sing!

You see, I used to be a professional musician (I worked in church music as a pianist, organist and choir director/music director for over a decade. I still play for churches here in St Cloud.). The group who hired me knew that, and asked that I play some Christmas music during the dinner, and sing before my usual show.

It was like the old days of vaudeville shows, where there was music, singing, jokes, and the mindreading show itself. We even ended with a Christmas sing-along.

A full evening of entertainment, working with a great audience on both nights!

So...if you want live music, I can certainly provide it with a smile!

I see my schedule of shows, home parties and corporate events. Lots to do.

And it's never "business as usual" for me. It's a lot of work to prepare.

You see, I'm not like all the other entertainers out there, who do the exact same show every time, and only make minor changes. . Every show and party I do is completely customized and unique. Every. Single. One.

Here's a peek inside my mind as I prepare for each of those shows. I ask myself tons of questions. Here are a few:

• How many people will be there?
• Why is the event happening?
• What is the age range of my audience/group?
• What will be comfortable for them?
• How much do they want to be involved in the show?
• Are they more intellectual or more practical-minded?
• Are they more skeptical? More metaphysical? An even mix of both?
• How do they want to feel at the end of the event?
• How can I use my talents and abilities to make this feeling happen?

The answers to those questions (and many more!) will be different for every show. I take those answers and create a presentation that will fit the group like a glove.

This is why I have consistently high marks and glowing reviews whenever I do a show, party, or event. I'm not a slick talker who gives the same wooden nickel to every person who comes along.
