Is it already nearing the Holiday Season? Where did the time go??? Now is the time to book for your upcoming Christmas Party or Holiday celebration! I've been booking performances for Mentalism Shows and Hypnosis Shows for the season since JUNE! Of course, the only way to know if I'm available is to Contact Me and find out! Lots of fun, laughs and gasps of amazement await! I'm going to be having an online Hypnotic Seance this Halloween night! This is something that I have done only a few times, and this year seemed like a good time to do for a wider audience. Mind you, this is not your typical Seance. As the title suggests, this is a Seance that works though your own thoughts and intentions. Rather than meeting in a room and having a Seance in the traditional sense, this is through the agency of a light Hypnotic state. Nothing scary, nothing unsafe. No chains rattling, no chairs moving. This is a great chance to connect with loved ones directly. Rather than my usual work of bringing messages, you have the chance to encounter loved ones directly through this experience. You get to be the medium yourself! Of course, this is also one of the rare times that I will not record the experience. Instead, it is a LIVE experience only. It's worth a look! Click here to find out more! I'm always amazed at where I will be each weekend. Some weekends, I am at a corporate event, another might be a birthday party or fundraising event. A few weekends ago, I found myself at a High School Reunion, doing my Hypnosis Show! It was wonderful to see so many people, and they were having a blast! Of course, with some parties there can be a lot of activity and noise that can make a hypnosis show extremely challenging to perform, since participants have to be able to concentrate without interruptions. With all the noise, the show went forward, and people had a great time. Here's the review: "Rolled with the punches! - Don was great. We had a rowdy 20th high school reunion and he did a great job despite the noise! Very professional, very fun and people were talking about the performance all night! Thanks so much, Don!" I had the honor and privilege a few weeks ago to be the main attraction for a fundraising show in Owatonna, MN. What a great time! The perfect combination of mindreading and hypnosis to bring on plenty of laughs and gasps of astonishment! Here's what they had to say: "Don Marlette was terrific! Everyone raved about a very entertaining evening with Don. He hypnotized members of the audience and had them do crazy, hilarious things. He also had people mesmerized with his mind reading skills. We loved him and were so happy we booked him for our event." Thank you for a great time! As an entertainer, I see all kinds of potential clients wanting to book me for a show, event or party. Many sizes of groups, from 10 to 1000, along with a vast array of professions and personalities. I've entertained everywhere from living rooms to theaters, and they've been wonderful experiences! With all these positives, there's often the question of cost. How much is a show? Let's shift the conversation from cost to value. How much do you value your guests? How do you feel about them? What do you really think of them? If you were to give them a gift, would it be a cheap bobble from the corner market, or something more exquisite, unique and special? I encourage you to think about entertainment as a gift you give to your guests. I always work with budgets, and have given $300 shows that would normally cost $1000, just because of budget constraints. But then there are some groups who have made what I consider questionable choices. I've been to events that had boring or even bad entertainment, only to find out they were hired only because they were the lowest price. Going for the cheapest, bottom dollar might make for cheaper entertainment, but the value is just as cheap, if not cheaper. It makes me wonder about the value of guests in the eyes of some organizations. In my own case, I pose a simple question. Do you want a thrown-together magic show that someone threw together after a shopping spree on the internet, or do you want a seasoned pro presenting a fun and intriguing experience that you can't find anywhere else? You get what you pay for. One of the biggest reasons that people do not like to be part of a hypnosis show! In fact, I was banned from a specific military installation because the commanding officer didn't want military secrets getting revealed! The truth is... NO, you will not reveal any secrets of the past or present. Hypnosis is not like a truth serum, where I or anyone else can force you to reveal information, facts or personal history. A Hypnotized person still has full autonomy and self-control, and cannot reveal anything that he or she does not want to reveal. Because you maintain your own freewill and self-control, you cannot do or say anything that is contrary to your nature and personality. I do not allow anyone to embarrass themselves onstage. The fact is that while you will do funny things, you will not do anything embarrassing or unethical. Volunteers have such a good time participating in my Hypnosis Show, that I hear audience members say again and again, "I wish I had gone up to the stage! That looked so fun!" It's all in the show, so there's no need to have a list of people who either want to be Hypnotized, or who have been chosen to be Hypnotized by the event planner. Instead, volunteers are self-selected. I only want people who are willing, motivated and ready for the experience. Some people prefer to observe, while others really want to be part of the show! I guide the audience through a process that is fun, amazing, funny and has a unique purpose. At several points in the beginning of the show, individuals discover how open they may be to suggestion, and whether they are truly ready for the experience. By the end of that first segment, people will already know if they are ready and want to be part of the show. You will be pleasantly surprised at how many are ready and willing to be part of the show! We all would do well to work on our communication skills. How we communicate with others, both in speaking and listening, are key to healthy and positive relationships. But HOW are you listening? Often words are chosen carefully to communicate feelings and thoughts, but can also often mask one's true feelings. On top of that we can trick ourselves into thinking one way about something, only to have opposite feelings underneath that we're trying to ignore, hoping they will eventually go away. A key ingredient to good communication is to listen with your EYES, not just your ears. When someone is speaking with you, pay attention to what you see, as well as what you hear. Does the person's body language and attitude match their words, or is there is disconnection between them? If you notice a disconnection, first validate what you heard them say, and then point out that the discrepancy between what they said and what you saw in their body language and facial expression. This can become a key to understanding the person better, as well as a way for the person to realize their true feelings about a matter, which may have been eluding them until now. So listen with your ears AND your eyes. Let them open doors to clearer communication and stronger relationships! There are positive thoughts and negative thoughts. Positive thoughts are associated with experiences, encounters and situations that make us feel uplifted, happy and joyful. Negative thoughts are usually associated with circumstances, people and situations that leave us feeling drained, sad and heavy. How can you reduce the effects of negative thoughts on your life? There is a simple technique that helps a great deal. First, picture the negative thought, whether that is a memory of a situation, person or place. Picture it as vividly as possible. Once you have done that, drain it of all color. Every ounce of color draining completely away from that visualized reality, leaving it a completely colorless, black and white image. Now shrink that black and white image, making it smaller and smaller, until you can barely make out any details at all. Once you have that image shrunk to its smallest size. Open your eyes, and let go of the experience. It only takes a few times for this technique to yield amazing results, as it dramatically reduces the impact of the person, situation or experience you are reducing. Give it a try! I have had a couple of events in the past, where the person booking me for a Hypnosis Show was trilling with excitement: "This is going to be so great! No one knows you're going to be here!" Deep breath. Time for a little discussion. I do NOT recommend having a hypnosis show as a surprise for your guests. First, there are some people who are completely turned off by a hypnosis show. I know of events where a few people have walked out of the venue simply because there was a hypnosis show taking place. Granted, hypnosis shows are fun, funny and safe, but there are some who have personal objections and discomfort with a Hypnosis Show, and they ought to be respected. This is when a Mentalism Show might be the better choice. Second, a Hypnosis Show benefits from the psychological principle of expectation. When people know there is a Hypnosis Show, their unconscious mind gears up for the event. The funniest people in the show are already preparing to be hilarious! The anticipation of the Comedy Hypnosis Show will prepare your guests for a great time! So please let your guests know in advance about the wonderful funny entertainment you have booked for them. They'll thank you for it! |
